René Daniëls

Dutch, 1950

René Daniëls, a Dutch artist born in Eindhoven in 1950, is considered one of the most eminent Dutch painters of his generation. Throughout his career, Daniels is mainly preoccupied with artist with drawing and painting, on canvas and on paper. For René Daniëls, ideas and texts have always been an indispensable element for his art; that is why he has constantly incorporated or added words and fragments of text in his visual art.As such, ambiguity and double meanings play an important role in what he calls "visual poetry".

He has exhibited regularly at home and abroad, mainly until in 1987. Now his works are part of large museum collections including Tate Modern and Van Abbe Museum Eindhoven.
