Willem Baars Projects is delighted to announce its participation at Art Island, a captivating art fair held within the walls of a historical fortress on Forteiland IJmuiden.

During Art Island, Willem Baars Projects will demonstrate a diverse selection of artists:

Among the artists, we are proud to present Emo Verkerk, renowned for his portraits in which he embodies his vision of the individual, rather than aiming for a mere faithful resemblance; Morgan Betz, whose intricate works show a delicate playful balance between abstraction and figuration, form and subject; and the internationally acclaimed Keren Cytter, whose thought-provoking and unconventional art challenges traditional narratives.

Additionally, we are glad to introduce several sculptures by Joost van den Toorn and Rob Birza, whose works offer a unique exploration of form and concept.

During the fair, we will also exhibit a meticulous reconstruction of a wall from the studio of one of the most renowned Dutch artists, Klaas Gubbels, showcasing a series of almost similar still-lifes which are described by Gubbels as “Super saaie stillevens”. The small variations of the alike compositions show the endless possibilities of what he can do with colour and form, turning simple objects into art.

The unique setting, where more than 35 leading galleries come together, will add an enchanting backdrop to the diverse range of artworks on display.
